When I first started “The Truth” I did buy that Strauss was really suffering and damaged. But as the book went on, it felt a little (to me) like the tail wagging the dog: he wanted to explore all these various things and used his inability to be monogamous as some sort of anchor.

But to be clear, I very much believe in the central tenet of what Strauss is saying — to inspect former trauma to see how it affects current actions.(Although I hate that he’s selling it in this way). This is a long way of saying I can see why “The Truth” resonated with you and others; I simply brought up my reaction to it to explain why I started googling him, and how I found out about his coaching business.
