The folks behind "The Secret" are the original charlatans. It's loosely based, I think, on the book "The Science of Getting Rich" which tells you everything you need to know about what they were selling. They don't even try to hide that they think success = BMWs and gold necklaces.

I also remember one of the Secret people on CNN with Larry King, (I hope I didn't dream this) and he asked: What about abused kids? What about the Jews in the Holocaust? Did all these people manifest their outcomes? The guy really squirmed but kept doubling down and saying yes. Truly bonkers.
