Thank you. As you said, the Al Anon meetings I’ve attended include people with a variety of relationships — partners, parents, children, siblings, even friends. I’ve never experienced anyone in these meetings who claim that the tools provided somehow preclude you from leaving a relationship. In fact, the tools they provide can HELP you leave a relationship when the addict inevitably tries to manipulate you into coming back. There is something about this piece that just feels off and unfair to the true intent of Al Anon.
