Not to police you, but "ethnic cleansing" isn't a great term, because it adopts the notion that ethnicities need to be cleansed. It's fallen out of favor.

As for the university, I don't know the specifics of that event, but even it was done for reasons other than trying to root out Hamas, "cultural destruction," is not genocide. Physical or biological destruction is. That's probably why when the Taliban destroyed the Buddha sculptures Salsal and Shahmama, no one mentioned the G-word.
