Maybe it's the internet, but I too graduated approximately 30 years ago (28) and I don't remember it being so prevalent then. Do you? I remember being encouraged to be creative and innovative, but not to constantly fix myself. But I guess it also depends on the circles you were running in.

Anyway, as the self-help industry would probably say: It's not too late! And I hope you're calling yourself a "slacker" in a cool, Gen X way, and not as insult.
