I wish I knew why dating is such hell — I’m also an introvert, but don’t mind dinners with interesting people. So why does it suck so bad? Why is it so exhausting? Not a rhetorical question, I’ve truly always wondered this.

I will say the best time of my dating life was when I truly committed to the idea that I just wanted to meet interesting people, and that was that. I ended up becoming friends with a microbiologist who is a photographer on the side, and a journalist — that was great. But it was counteracted by all the rest.
