Because I truly believe that there is a trend of people commodifying their victimhood. Every negative experience, large or small, is often written about as if they are all of the same severity. Which, of course, harms people who have been truly victimized.

I have no problem with people who feel they were victimized in some way writing about their experience. I do have a problem with victimization as a brand, and I'm seeing that more and more often.
